BITSMUN Goa is one of India’s biggest and fastest growing international MUNs

A Model United Nations (MUN) conference is a simulation of the UN, in which students learn about diplomacy, international relations and the UN. Students represent different countries as delegates, present their country’s stance and stand for world peace.

BITSMUN Goa is one of India’s biggest and fastest growing international MUNs. Spanning three days in length, whilst offering intense debate and thought-provoking agendas to discuss, BITSMUN is held during the technical festival of BITS Pilani – Goa campus, Quark. Having one of the most experienced Executive Boards in the country, BITSMUN 2016 promises to be an event that no participant is bound to forget. Seven committees, over 300 delegates from various institutions across the country, and one objective: international cooperation. Also, not to forget, a social event at the beach for delegates to get to know each other and enjoy a taste of Goa.

BITSMUN 2014 saw a participation of over 350 delegates, making it one of the largest MUNs in the country. BITSMUN 2015 saw delegates coming all the way down to Goa from 9 different countries, and had a modest turnout of 250 delegates. Since its inception, BITSMUN Goa has had the privilege of bringing the concept of MUN to many who would otherwise have not had the opportunity to experience the celebration of internationalism and cultural relations, and we hope to continue doing the same.

The committees of BITSMUN Goa 2016 are:

  1. UNHRC (Human Rights Council)
  2. GA-I: DISEC (Disarmament and International Security)
  3. WHO (World Health Organisation)
  4. ECOSOC (Economic and Social Council)
  5. HCC (Historical Crisis Committee)
  6. JCC (Joint-Crisis Committee)
  7. FIFA (Fédération Internationale de Football Association)
