Are Indian Venture Capitalists Cold Blooded Startup Killers?

Any startup to kick start its journey needs fund and venture capitalists play a vital role in providing valuable funds to a startup. This boosts up the confidence level of entrepreneurs and helps them to take the next step for their ventures. However, in India, it is not that easy for startups in any vertical to get their seed funds. Hence many innovative startup entrepreneurs in the country have closed their ventures due to lack of funds and proper support system.

Venture capitalists are kind hearted individuals but the kindness remains only if you show a jaw-dropping figure in the balance sheet. Especially in the Indian markets where ventures are born and dead instantaneously it is indeed a real tough task to impress a guy with funds. While some VC’s might emphasis on creating value there is still a large group of these men who focus on nothing less than turnover.
As a matter of fact, It is very difficult for the budding entrepreneurs in India to live up their dreams of taking their ventures to great heights; many of them have ended their ventures due to denial of funds from the venture capitalists.

Flip over to the next page to look at some key points on how few venture capitalists hindered the growth of a startup by killing the best of the ideas, as compiled by ET.

Through Years: 14 Products Shaped Apple's Legacy

Through Years: 14 Products Shaped Apple’s Legacy

Apple, the messiah in technology, is all about history, heritage and culture. An Apple product can simply make people go gaga, as it has the creativity of gifting the owner with a feel of holding something that truly defines geek and glamor.

Over the past 36 years, Apple has been through a lot of ups and downs across different platforms. Still the company has created at least 13 unique platforms, each having its own variety of software. Some of these flopped utterly in the market, while some of these are still in our pockets, credited to be as ‘my favorite gadget ever.’ If you go around asking people to name some of Apple’s finest computing products, then you probably would get three answers: Apple II, the Mac and iOS. But the history is all beyond that.

With that said, it’s time we take a historical trip across Apple’s times of yore, fully-loaded with prosperity, opulence and richness, reported by CIO.

Nokia E97 ENVELOP - Specification Details & Photos of New Removable Display

Nokia E97 ENVELOP – Specification Details & Photos of New Removable Display

  • Nokia E97 is a concept design by Fabien Nauroy, shows an incredible thought and a stylish phone. This concept phone has a complete keyboard in an AZERTY layout and there is a small LCD display above the keyboard.

  •  This envelop like design aims to set a limit between professional and personal life.
The included leather case contains a second pocket to hold an additional screen.

  • The parcel post like packaging of this phone has made it even more attractive and the best part of this concept phone is the futuristic pull-out LED display that can be used as a storage device and can create and share files or pictures.

  • That pane can be left protruding but still attached – for use with the keyboard – or removed completely and passed around as a photo, video or internet viewer.
It would also have its own internal storage and a desktop stand, meaning it could be used as a digital photo frame.
Nauroy envisages a leather portfolio case which would have a pocket for a second screen, so the two parts are obviously intended to be sold separately.   He’s certainly got the Nokia design language down to a fine art; the Finns could do worse than looking to Paris for their next inspiration.

BlackBerry 10 and BlackBerry 7 OS: 5 Key Hardware Differences

BlackBerry 10 and BlackBerry 7 OS: 5 Key Hardware Differences

By now, most of us know that BlackBerry 10 devices are different animals from their earlier counterparts. I still love my BlackBerry Bold 9900 smartphone, and it still works great. In the spirit of my dueling BlackBerry devices, I thought I’d share five quick things I’ve noticed as being big hardware differences between my BlackBerry Bold 9900 and the new BlackBerry Z10.

  1. Front-Facing Camera. I love having a front-facing camera for video conferencing, and I found myself wanting it on my BlackBerry Bold smartphone so I wouldn’t have to grab my BlackBerry PlayBook tablet. It’s a small thing, but to me it’s an important feature.
  2. 4G LTE. Availability of 4G speeds depend a great deal on your carrier, but the download speeds I’ve noticed on the BlackBerry Z10 definitely make videos and sharing faster and smoother.
  3. Apps and Games. While I definitely had a great collection of apps and games on my BlackBerry Bold smartphone, the graphics and processing capabilities of the BlackBerry Z10 are just that much better. What I’ve found in BlackBerry World is an awesome collection of fun and high quality games and productive apps that help me get through my day.
  4. Screen Resolution. Can we talk about 356 pixels per inch for second? It’s gorgeous. I remember being blown away by the 286 pixels per inch my BlackBerry Bold smartphone sported, but 356 is so much sweeter. And don’t get me started on the 1080p HD recording versus the BlackBerry Bold 9900’s 720p.
  5. Storage. Now that I’m grabbing more music and movies while traveling (thanks, 4G and retooled BlackBerry World), I appreciate the 16GB of onboard space versus the 8GB my BlackBerry Bold smartphone had. (Side note: Remember when 2GB was a ton of space?)

Of course, since BlackBerry 10 is an entirely new OS, there are also a ton of user experience differences, but these five hardware goodies offer their own slice of mobile deliciousness as well.
